John P. Richtman (who we call ‘Jack’) has been practicing law in Lake County since 1987.

Jack’s practice is heavily concentrated in estate matters. He has written hundreds of wills, trusts, and powers of attorney to protect clients’ assets and to provide for a smooth transition of their estates. Jack also advises families regarding trust and estate administration and distribution. Over the years he has represented innumerable clients in the probate court regarding will contests and other contested estate issues.

Jack is an author and frequent lecturer for the Lake County Bar Association. Jack has an ‘A-V’ rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review, the highest possible rating.

Jack is actively involved in several area civic organizations, including the Exchange Club of Grayslake, where he served as president in 1993-94. He was also a board member and President (1997-99) of the Exchange Club Foundation for the Prevention of Child Abuse. Jack is active with the Lake County Bar Association, having served on the Trusts & Estates Committee (Co-Chair 2008-09), Judicial Selection & Retention Committee and the Special ad hoc Facilities Committee. He currently chairs the Grayslake Craft Beer Festival, which raises over $50,000 annually for college scholarships for students.
